DKJCh DKBRCh Texas av Frygne

Another win for Jørgen and Texas. Here the Danish Kennel Club’s International Trial with CACIT in 2000. Nobody has won this trial more times than Jørgen; he has won it twice with Texas (1998, 2000), plus with both Agertoften Jalco (1995) and Lydehøjs Line (1990).

Metrinelunds Monrad (Texas av Frygne – Sorfi) came 2nd in the Danish Championship 2001 only two years old. Monrad sired some good dogs in kennel Spurvfugldalen.

In the spring of 1995, I invited the great Norwegian gundog veteran Olav Schjetne to come to the Danish Pointer Club’s main trial. He came with his very good pointer Myrteigens Nico, while Edle Backe accompanied him with litter sister Tampa Bay. The mother of these dogs was Myrteigens Berthe, (another great pointer Olav had), from the late 1/2-American Sir Satan’s first litter. The almost notorious dog Sir Satan was owned by Johan B. Steen, but Olav probably knew the dog better than anybody. After having discussed it with him, Jørgen and I decided to send Agertoften Isabella to Norway to be artifically inseminated with Sir Satan’s frozen semen. The litter was born in English Setter breeder Jørn Wølner’s kennel Frygne, and Jørgen and I went to Norway to bring three puppies back to Denmark. We chose two different females (Tutlik & Tanja) and, of the males, we both chose Texas. There was no doubt that he was the “star” of the litter. And what a fantastic dog he grew into!! He was young dog of the year in Denmark in 1997, he won the Danish Derby in 1998, and has several fantastic results in UK, AK and VK, both in Denmark, Norway and Sweden which makes him FTCh and BRCh. In the World Championship in Holland in 2000 he came 7th and won a team bronze medal for Denmark. He was also Pointer of the Year in Denmark 2000, and has won the Danish Championship (Spring). Texas has also bred well with different bitches, giving a Derby winner and much more. Litter sister Tanja also gave a Derby winner and several other good dogs.

Texas is a magnificent looking animal, and looking at his parents Sir Satan and Agertoften Isabella one couldn’t expect anything less.

Texas’ father was by the Norwegian / Swedish dog Viroa’s Hannibal and the American import The Mississippi Belle. Sir Satan made a strong impact in Scandinavian pointer breeding and also had many top trial results, including coming 2nd in the Norwegian Derby.

Derby winner DKJCh Flemløses Amanda (Texas av Frygne – Mjølners Freja).

Texas on point. He was an extraordinary dog, displaying his talent at a very early age. When he was 4-5 months old I gave the bold statement that he would win the Derby. By the time he entered the Derby as a two year-old, he had already been named best young dog the year before. He had also got his 1st Open and been to Norwegian mountains for the first time, where he got a 3.VK. I left Denmark before the Derby and eventually arrived in New Zealand four months prior to it. I anxiously waited for the result to come. First that he had qualified for the finale, then that he had won…

The Texas Heir (Royal Heir’s John – Palariel Wahoo Kate) was the father of the American import to Norway Mississippi Belle (who became the mother of Sir Satan). In USA The Texas Heir won the National Amateur Pheasant Championship already as a quite young dog. His father Royal Heir’s John (John D Monroe – Heir’s Royal Countess) won the Texas Championship in 1969.
